"On May 16, Hirsi Ali announced that she would leave parliament immediately, and confirmed a previous statement that she would move to the United States to work at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank. This move is planned for September 2006.[3]"

The American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research is a conservative think tank founded in 1943 whose stated mission is to support the "foundations of freedom - limited government, private enterprise, vital cultural and political institutions, and a strong foreign policy and national defense."

However, it has emerged as one of the leading architects of Bush administration's public policy; more than two dozen AEI alumni have served either in a Bush administration policy post or on one of the government's many panels and commissions.

Previously, Hamza Hanson advisor to Bush in the War against Islam.

Now, Ramadan works for Blair in the fight against Islam......

"A Muslim scholar accused by critics of sympathising with violence has been appointed to a government taskforce attempting to root out Islamic extremism in Britain, the Guardian has learned."

The Guardian

Leaked government documents name the individuals and organisations supposedly "Islamic" they know they can count on to help in their war against Islam:

Hamza Yusuf
Tariq Ramadan
Suhaib Webb

"The Jews and Christians will never be happy with you ntil you follow their religion "

They are obviously not upset with these......

Earlier in the week, there was talk of making the indoctrination of British Values at secondry schools compulsory as well as reviewing how Islam is taught at Universities - both obviouslt targetting Muslims.

They specified these included Freedom and Democracy, and it should be expected as Muslims refuse to integrate - despite all their efforts so far.

The pro-government Puppet Organisations and individuals were quickly brought onto the BBC News24 and Sky News to provide support. Tariq Ramadan openly supported this initiative on the BBC even claiming it did not go far enough while MCB and MPAC were adopting the usual approach, ie appearing to be critical but in reality, being critical of the way their plot is going to be executed which makes it apparent that this is targetting Muslims and proves the target is Islam.

So they instead end up providing "advice" to the government of doing the same thing in a subtle way which is more dangerous as they are more likely to succeed.

But then should we be surprised knowing that MCB, MPAC and Tariq Ramadan are UK government endorsed?

The Ups, Downs, And Outs Of Ayaan Hirsi Ali

For years, Ayaan Hirsi Ali has been a lightning rod for critics of Islam (who, like murdered filmmaker Theo van Gogh, supported her) and many Dutch immigrant Muslims (some of whom - wrongly - threatened her life). Her comments about the Prophet Muhammad (she called him "a pedophile") and Holland's relaxed immigration laws towards Muslims (abused, she says) found many right wing supporters, eventually helping her win a seat in Holland's parliament. One of them, Immigration and Interior minister Rita Verdonk (the one who proposed a ban on burkas), accelerated a review of Hirsi Ali's own immigration status after televised revelations that she had herself lied during her naturalisation process, (saying she was fleeing war torn Somalia instead of middle class Kenya) and falsifying her name (it's Ayaan Hirsi Magan). The result? Verdonk declared her citizenship invalid and Hirsi Ali resigned her MP seat on May 16. "I have done more harm than good," said Hirsi Ali to a Dutch newspaper. "My message has come across to the public wrong." Adding insult to injury, Hirsi Ali must leave her police-protected home by September, prompted by a court decision in favour of her neighbours who felt unsafe living next to her. After that, it is expected that Hirsi Ali will move to the US (only months after receiving Readers Digest's European of the Year award) and work for the conservative American Enterprise Institute in Washington DC (though the growing negative publicity could doom that too). As a precursor, she visited the US to promote her latest book, a compilation of essays entitled "The Caged Virgin" (excerpt: "I have taken an enormous risk by answering the call for self-reflection and by joining in the public debate that has been taking place in the West since 9/11. And what do the cultural experts say? 'You should have said it in a different way'"). If she makes it to the US as a resident, Hirsi Ali will find little resonance to her comments about European immigrant Muslims, finding a domestic Muslim population that is relatively integrated, affluent, and politically savvy (though if she's still interested in immigration, the Minutemen could use a hand). Still, many issues she has raised in the past, like female genital mutilation (of which she is a victim) and the abuse of women in Muslim immigrant communities, have filled a vacuum left by Muslims unwilling to engage in constructive self-critcism on their own. Without that, many more critics are ready to take Hirsi Ali's place.

Another Iraqi documentary that paints the soldiers as heroes and Muslims as evil, bad guys. Why don't they ever mention that the people being murdered are also Muslims. It's like they only show the 'Insurgents' as people that pray and read Qur'an. The only time they do mention Muslims being murdered is while they're mocking us "But they're killing their own people!"

I've never seen this posted anywhere, so I will post it here in case no one has read it.

After having overcome fascism, Nazism, and Stalinism, the world now faces a new totalitarian global threat: Islamism.

We, writers, journalists, intellectuals, call for resistance to religious totalitarianism and for the promotion of freedom, equal opportunity and secular values for all.

The recent events, which occurred after the publication of drawings of Muhammed in European newspapers, have revealed the necessity of the struggle for these universal values. This struggle will not be won by arms, but in the ideological field. It is not a clash of civilisations nor an antagonism of West and East that we are witnessing, but a global struggle that confronts democrats and theocrats.

Like all totalitarianisms, Islamism is nurtured by fears and frustrations. The hate preachers bet on these feelings in order to form battalions destined to impose a liberticidal and unegalitarian world. But we clearly and firmly state: nothing, not even despair, justifies the choice of obscurantism, totalitarianism and hatred. Islamism is a reactionary ideology which kills equality, freedom and secularism wherever it is present. Its success can only lead to a world of domination: man's domination of woman, the Islamists' domination of all the others. To counter this, we must assure universal rights to oppressed or discriminated people.

We reject « cultural relativism », which consists in accepting that men and women of Muslim culture should be deprived of the right to equality, freedom and secular values in the name of respect for cultures and traditions. We refuse to renounce our critical spirit out of fear of being accused of "Islamophobia", an unfortunate concept which confuses criticism of Islam as a religion with stigmatisation of its believers.

We plead for the universality of freedom of expression, so that a critical spirit may be exercised on all continents, against all abuses and all dogmas.

We appeal to democrats and free spirits of all countries that our century should be one of Enlightenment, not of obscurantism.

Has anyone noticed that the most common reaction of Muslims is to try to convert you to Islam?

I will never submit.

Islamophobia on the rise [
March 8, 2006

Negative Perception Of Islam Increasing:
As the war in Iraq grinds into its fourth year, a growing proportion of Americans are expressing unfavorable views of Islam, and a majority now say that Muslims are disproportionately prone to violence, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. The poll found that nearly half of Americans -- 46 percent -- have a negative view of Islam, seven percentage points higher than in the tense months after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, when Muslims were often targeted for violence...

...The survey also found that one in three Americans have heard prejudiced comments about Muslims lately. In a separate question, slightly more (43 percent) reported having heard negative remarks about Arabs. One in four Americans admitted to harboring prejudice toward Muslims, the same proportion that expressed some personal bias against Arabs.
Contrary to popular belief, Muslims are not silent. Look at all the outreach efforts just in the last month or so after the Danish cartoons issue. I've also traced a year of general outreach (inspired by a previous depressing poll), condemnations of terrorism, and even charitable giving (tsunami, Katrina, South Asia earthquake).

But somehow, it doesn't seem to be making a dent. What do we need to do next? How can we be more effective? Right now I admit to feeling kind of hopeless about this.

Added: Juan Cole comments and Arthur Silber looks at the larger context of propaganda.

Blending in and spreading the Word

Abe Levy
Express-News Staff Writer

Carlos Charco bought a turban, tunic and sandals on the first day of a short mission trip three years ago in a West African country.

He wanted to blend into this Sahara Desert region, far from Mexico's Pacific coast, where he grew up. Far from the San Antonio seminary where he was studying Christian theology.

The new duds and his mestizo features — black hair and brown skin — matched those of the Arab community there. Nearly everyone assumed he was Muslim.

"It was an advantage as a missionary that I'm not white and my eyes were not blue or green," said Charco, a San Antonio pastor who's preparing — along with his wife, Viviana, of South America — to be missionaries in a Muslim country.

They are part of a rising evangelical movement of Latin-American missionaries going to areas that are the least Christianized in the world.

Jerry Lara/Express-News

The Rev. Carlos Charco (center) prays with Adellina Lajzer and Benjamin Moreno during services at Rainbow Hill Baptist Mission.

They believe their skin tone and non-Western background give them advantages in Muslim countries over Anglo missionaries, who are held back by post-9-11 hostilities.
